Not everything blooms overnight. Some things take time. A lot of it.
Aura didn’t start as a brand. Aura started in me — Lisaura — as a soft, inner whisper.
It wasn’t about packaging or product. It was about remembering who I am.
But life shifted. I left my island, the Dominican Republic, the place where I had always known myself, through family, through culture, through rhythm, through the heat of the sun and the sound of the ocean. When I arrived in the U.S., it wasn’t just geography that changed.
It was everything. For the first time in my life, I had to ask…
"Who am I without what I’ve always known?"
- Without the streets that knew my footsteps…
- Without the people who called my name with familiarity…
- Without the routines that shaped my days…
- Without the version of me that everyone recognized?
I didn’t have answers. But I knew I couldn’t pretend.
So I stopped trying to force a new identity and instead, I allowed myself to unfold.
I wanted to build community here. But before I could connect with others…
I had to connect with myself.
This wasn’t just about business. It was personal. It was spiritual. It was emotional.
And if you’re reading this and you’re in that same space, where things feel unclear, unfamiliar, or heavy I want you to know:
You’re not broken.
You’re just in process.
And some things just need time.
So I want to share a few simple practices I’m doing right now to stay connected, aligned, and present in the middle of this beautiful, messy transformation:
1. I meditate for 5 minutes right after I wake up.
Before I check my phone. Before I speak. Before I do anything for the world, I give myself silence. It’s just me and my breath. It helps me anchor before I perform.
2. I listen to affirmations I created , literally with ChatGPT, that remind me of who I truly am.
I say them out loud. I say them with emotion. They’re not fluffy. They’re deeply personal. They speak to the power of my uniqueness, my softness, my creativity, and my vision.
3. I write down my thoughts, unfiltered.
Sometimes it’s gratitude. Sometimes it’s confusion. But I’ve learned that writing helps me release what’s trapped in my mind and give voice to what’s trying to come through.
4. I go for a walk.
Just air, light, and presence. I let nature speak. And somehow, it always does. Even when I don’t ask for answers, it gives me peace.
5. I work on something that excites me.
Even if it’s a small idea or a new product. That feeling of “aliveness” matters. Joy is medicine. Purpose is fuel. And passion is a compass.
So if you’re in a season of searching…
Of waiting…
Of rebuilding or redefining yourself —
I’m with you.
This season is not a detour. It’s the design.
And even if it doesn’t look perfect yet, you’re right on time.
Because what you’re becoming?
It’s sacred.
It’s strong.
And it will rise from you ,not from who you were, but from who you are becoming.
With love, your sis
Lisaura
